Take A Trip on Route 66

Wow, it has been a long time!
It would be an understatement to say I have been busy.
In June, we found out that my husband got orders to South Korea. With this news, we have been going almost non-stop doing something every week to prepare for the move. If you are unfamiliar with the process of Command Sponsorship, it takes a long time, and a lot of work on our part to get approved. Command Sponsorship is where you apply for your family to go with you on an overseas assignment when your orders say "non-command sponsored" or whatever.

I have neglected to write on here since then! I hope you're all eager to read some more from my blog!

First I would like to say THANK YOU! I am a little overwhelmed at the amount of followers and supporters that have come out of the woodwork supporting and reading this blog. It's been pretty fantastic! Keep spreading the word for me, everyone! I would love to accomplish my goal, which is meeting Andrew Zimmern and eating something totally disgusting with him!

All jokes aside, I hope you're ready to grab those reading glasses and spend some time reading all about some of my recent adventures!

Take a trip to Route 66...

My Grandmother recently moved to Edmond, OK, and since she's been there has been trying to get me to try Pop's Restaurant.
Do you like Soda? Or as they call it here in Oklahoma, Pop? Then this is the place to have some. It is literally covered from wall to wall in carbonated drinks of every type imaginable. Have some Butterscotch Root Beer (omg awesome!), or some Strawberry Cream Soda. Or try something old school, like Moxie. You will be in drink heaven in this place.

However, the food leaves something to be desired. Don't go into this place with high expectations like my mom, Gramma, and sister and I did. First of all, we had wait about 45 minutes to sit down because it was INSANE in there. Just about as many people inside as there were soda bottles. Once we finally sat down, we had an absent minded waiter who forgot to give one of my daughters her drink, and only came to check on us about three times the whole time we were eating.
And the food? Mediocre at best. I was expecting this mouth watering delicious burger, when all I got was a regular every day burger. Nothing special to say the most about it. My Gramma said the Onion Rings were good, but my lovely 87 year old Gramma has no sense of smell, so it makes me wonder how well she can taste food. Just kidding, Gramma, if you're reading this, I love you!!!

So if you're taking a trip on Route 66, stop by Pop's for some delicious drinks and fill up on gas. But don't waste your time or money on the food. Stop by a nearby McDonald's.

I also added some pictures from my 26th Birthday at Olive Garden!
Remember, I am not one of those food critics that have the "buds" for food, so I eat ANYWHERE. I am down-to-earth and just a regular Jane when it comes to where I like to eat! I will review it if it is something worth writing about!

I have been working hard making Hair Bows for my Bowtique! Check them out, and tell anyone you may know who would like some adorable hair accessories!
